The F2480 is a 400 to 3000 MHz RF Analog Variable GainAmplifier (AVGA) that can be used in receivers, transmitters andother applications. Either the amplifier or voltage variableattenuator (VVA) can be configured as the first stage in thecascade.

The F2480 RF AVGA provides 12dB typical maximum cascadegain (no attenuation) with 4.3dB noise figure (amplifier as firststage) and 36dB gain adjustment designed to operate with asingle +5V supply. Nominally, the amplifier offers +41.5dBmoutput IP3 using 106mA of ICC.

This device is packaged in a 5 x 5 mm, 32-pin TQFN with 50;single-ended RF input and RF output impedances for ease ofintegration into the signal-path lineup.

The F2480 Competitive Advantage

The F2480 RF AVGA provides very high-performance bycombining a silicon VVA & a Zero-Distortion™ RF amplifier in asingle, compact TQFN package. Because of the superb VVA IP3performance over its full attenuation range, the VVA can beplaced after the amplifier while yielding the desired cascadedOIP3 performance. Utilizing IDT’s technology, the resultant RFAVGA provides +41.5dBm OIP3 performance at 900MHz. Thedevice is internally matched so there is no need to optimizeexternal matching elements.

Evaluation Kit for F2480 Broadband RF Analog VGA The F2480EVBI is a fully populated evaluation board that allows the customer to easily evaluate the F2480 Analog VGA. Complete instructions for the EBV, pin descriptions and the schematic can be found in the product datasheet.

评估板F2480EVBI主要特性:

F2480EVBI (Evaluation Board)
SMA connectors for the amplifier and the VVA RF inputs and RF outputs, VCC power supply and VCTL to adjust the attenuator setting
The amplifier and VVA can be measured independently using the separate SMA connectors
Customers can cascade the amplifier and VVA, in either order, using the separate SMA connectors
Pin headers are available to control various features (reference pin descriptions and EVB schematic in the datasheet)
