The XDPL8105 is a high performance microcontroller-based digital single-stage flyback controller with powerfactor correction (PFC) for constant output current applications. The IC is available in a DSO-8 package andsupports a wide feature set, requiring a minimum of external components. The digital engine offers thepossibility to configure operational parameters and protection modes, which helps to ease the design phaseand allows a reduced number of hardware variants in production. Accurate primary side output current control is implemented to eliminate the need for secondary side feedback circuitry.

The XDPL8105 is a digital AC/DC flyback controller with Power Factor Correction (PFC). The PFC functionenables a rectified sinusoidal input current waveform with a power factor typically up to 0.99 and THD < 10%for a wide range of operating conditions. XDPL8105 provides primary side constant output current control thatavoids the secondary side control feedback loop circuitry usually needed in isolated power converters. Thisapproach supports a low part count that is necessary to build up the application. XDPL8105 has multi-modeoperations and it selects the best mode of operation based on operating conditions. The multi-modeoperation will automatically switch between quasi-resonant mode (QRM) and discontinuous mode (DCM) andactive burst mode (ABM). In addition, XDPL8105 supports both secondary side 0 - 10 V dimming and primaryside micro-controller dimming application. Digital and RF interfaces can be supported by a microcontrollerusing a digital-to-analog converter.

The XDPL8105 provides a high flexibility in the design-in of the application. A graphic user interface (GUI) toolcalled .dp Vision supports users to tune a set of configurable parameters. The configuration can be done via asingle pin UART interface at pin DIM/UART.

The XDPL8105 40W reference design is a digitally configurable LED driver with a universal input of 90–305 VAC, a wide output load range of 16–45 VDC and isolated 0–10 V dimming (with CDM10V). Please refer to the next page for the main design features of this board based on Infineon’s XDPL8105 and CDM10V.

XDPL8105 40W参考设计主要特性:

 Single-stage flyback with power factor correction (PFC) and high-precision primary side-controlled constant current output
 Excellent current accuracy (±3%) across universal input voltage range (90 to 305 Vac) and wide output voltage range (18 V – 45 V)
 Integrated 600 V HV cell for fast startup
 High efficiency with quasi-resonant (QR) operation
 Low dimming output with discontinuous conduction mode (DCM) and active burst mode (ABM) operation
 High power factor (PF) and low input current total harmonic distortion (iTHD) with advanced switching cycle modulation scheme

 Configurable dimming curve to either linear or quadratic (eye-adaptive).
