The ST25DVxxx device is a NFC RFID Tag offering 4 Kbit, 16 Kbit, and 64 Kbit of electrically erasable programmable memory (EEPROM). ST25DVxxx offers two interfaces. The first one is an I2C serial link and can be operated from a DC power supply. The second one is a RF link activated when ST25DVxxx acts as a contactless memory powered by the received carrier electromagnetic wave.

In I2C mode, the ST25DVxxx user memory contains up to 8192 bytes, which could be split in 4 flexible and protectable areas.

In RF mode, following ISO/IEC 15693 or NFC forum type 5 recommendations, ST25DVxxx user memory contains up to 2048 blocks of 4 bytes which could be split in 4 flexible and protectable areas.

ST25DVxxx offers a fast transfer mode between the RF and contact worlds, thanks to a 256 bytes volatile buffer (also called Mailbox).

In addition, the GPO pin of the ST25DVxxx provides data informing the contact world about incoming events, like RF field detection, RF activity in progress or mailbox message availability.

An energy harvesting feature is also proposed when external conditions make it possible.

• Write cycles endurance:

– 1 million write cycles at 25 °C

– 600k write cycles at 85 °C

• Half-duplex 256-byte dedicated buffer

• Analog output pin to power external components

Data protection

• User memory: 1 to 4 configurable areas, protectable in read and/or write by three 64-bit passwords in RF and one 64-bit password in I2C

• System configuration: protected in write by a 64-bit password in RF and a 64-bit password in I2C

• Interruption pin configurable on multiple RF events (field change, memory write, activity, Fast Transfer end, user set/reset/pulse)

• Open Drain or CMOS output (depending on version)

演示板ST25DV-DISCOVERY

The ST25DV-DISCOVERY is a demonstration kit that evaluates features and capabilities of the ST25DV04K Dynamic NFC / RFID Tag.

The communication link between boards is the I2C serial and the power is provided by the processor card or via energy harvesting. Specific data lines complete the pin connector assignment shared between cards.

A variety of demonstrations can be performed with this kit. The kit allows the users to develop and to test their own applications.

• MB1283 (ST25DX_Discovery_Mboard): a microprocessor mother board, which includes a complement of hardware and software tools allowing the use the full STM32 Nucleo ecosystem. The board is powered through one USB connector.

• MB1284 (ST25DV_Discovery_ANT_C1): a daughter board, which embeds the ST25DV04K Dynamic NFC / RFID tag device. This daughter board provides a buffering data transfer capability and has a Class 1 antenna.

The ST25DV series Dynamic NFC tags discovery kit (ST25DV-DISCOVERY) allows the user to evaluate the features and capabilities of the ST25DV04K products.

The MB1283 in standard edition is designed to help the user explore the features of the ST25DV04K products with the support of the STM32 Nucleo ecosystem. This mother board uses a 32-bit ARM® Cortex™-M4 CPU with FPU high-performance microcontroller to develop the applications.

The MB1283 standard edition board is powered through the USB bus. It is based on an STM32F405 line microcontroller and includes:

The MB1283 demonstration edition board includes all of the features of the standard edition plus a HE20 JTAG connector, a WiFi® module and a low-energy Bluetooth® module. These additional features demonstrate various use cases.

The MB1284 is a dynamic NFC/RFID tag providing a buffering data transfer capability expansion board usable with the MB1283 mother board. This daughter board interfaces with the STM32 MCU via the I2C.

• An ST-LINK embedded debug tool interface

• A 2.4” TFT LCD with touch screen capability

• LEDs

• Push buttons (reset and user)

• A mini USB debug connector

• A user-dedicated micro USB connector.

The MB1283 demonstration edition board includes all of the features of the standard edition plus a HE20 JTAG connector, a WiFi® module and a low-energy Bluetooth® module. These additional features demonstrate various use cases.

The MB1284 is a dynamic NFC/RFID tag providing a buffering data transfer capability expansion board usable with the MB1283 mother board. This daughter board interfaces with the STM32 MCU via the I2C.
